Attending Scarborough means seeing my favorite ren act, The Corsairs. This season they're back with new songs, new scripts, new lunacy and a new CD! Pictured here they are singing a moving version of "Sailor's Prayer" (photo, below). You can hear this song along with other excerpts from the albums on their website (www.corsairs.com.

If you visit the faire, you may get to see Natasha, the sugarglider. Here she is with her owner, Lynette (photo, right). Lynette owns Dragonskins Leather and makes a beautiful and original array of leather goods including mugs, bracers, pendants and very sturdy pouches (I got one to keep my camera lens and extra film in). She can just about hand tool any design on her product.

Another interesting character you may meet is his Lord mayor Rook (photo, left). As you can see, the mayor is a hearty fellow not adversed to enjoying himself. This year's story arc involves an angry Scotsman named Campbell seeking the mayor's head out of revenge. This would-be avenger has also brought many formidable Scotmen along to help him in his campaign.

One of the new acts to faire are the Washer Women. These ladies perform at a washing well where one of the old stages used to be. They mingle with passing patrons doing all sorts of antics such as pictured here, making bubbles (photo, right).

A returning act is that irrepressible pair that make up Hey Nunnie Nunnie. These two ladies are amongst the funniest and most talented actors I've ever seen. Here the sisters are promoting their new cereal, "Moral Fiber" (photo, left).
