Greetings, visitors to Ryleh's World!
Two years ago, I, Blackwolf the
Dragonmaster--presently Duke of Spyre Green in the Kingdom of
Rhye--made a pilgrimage some 35 miles from that Mortal-infested rat
race known as New York City...to the Shire of Tuxedo. 'Twas there that
I didst explore the sights and sounds (along with some of the wonders)
of the New York Renaissance Faire Sterling Forest. Whilst I enjoyed
myself immensely, alas, I felt somewhat unfulfilled, if you take my
meaning correctly. This was simply because I had at that time assumed
the Mortal form of Squire Washington of the Eastern Realm.
But now, two years later, and for the first time in over four millenia, I had the chance to properly
strut me stuff, as you Mortals say (heh-heh!), resplendent in full
wizardly regalia! Huzzah! I won't show you me robes right now; rather,
we shall save that for the end of my remarks. I think you will all be
pleasantly surprised. I hope.
In any case, Saturday, August 8th, 1998--when these photographs were taken--was, in every sense of the phrase, perfect
Queen's Weather: blue sky, warm and sunny temperatures, a minimal
amount of wind...in short, just the most glorious kind of weather for
this, the 21st Annual New York Renaissance Faire Sterling Forest,
presented by Renaissance Entertainment Corporation (REC).
The following pages are graphick
intense, take a little while to download, yadda yadda yadda. Forgive
me, my Mortal friends: it seems that I, too, have apparently fallen
'neath the Spell of Seinfeld, myself having had the misfortune of watching that odious sitcom's alleged farewell episode. If you are a long-running television sitcom, and you've decided to call it quits, always remember Rule #1: tell your audience goodbye and thank you for having shared so many good times with us. This, I fear, "Seinfeld" simply did not do, for which reason I must henceforth frown at Jerry severely! Fah!
But enough of rantings and formalities: ON TO THE FAIRE!
