Air-conditioning: what a GLORIOUS concept, especially in the Deep -- hot, humid, subtropical and unbearably muggy -- Old South! Truly, King George, Lord and Master of the Texas Renaissance Festival, was a genius when he authorized construction of the
Faerie perch (Photo, Right): Aviana really loves the ambience -- and the air-conditioning! -- in the new Prince of Wales Pub at TRF. As an extra incentive to visit the pub, there were some outstanding musicians performing there throughout the day: Lord Sturm and Jim Hancock AKA "The Burly Minstrel" among others. Our favorites were the Shantyman (AKA Gregg Csikos of The Corsairs) who played every faire afternoon at 4pm, followed by the Pub Sing at 4:30pm. Ah: cold drinks, cool air, hot music and the best of company -- what a wonderful combination on faire day, whatever the weather!
Aviana enjoys a most refreshing bottle of Coca-Cola(tm) on a hot and humid day at TRF (Photo, Right: note the daintly-raised pinkie as she takes a sip from her drink. While Air Faeries certainly do know all the nuances of etiquette, usually they aren't so formal about it -- especially in a pub setting. Obviously, Aviana was feeling slightly mischevious when she suggested this series of portraits!)
Nine out of ten Air Faeries agree: "Things really DO Go Better With Coca-Cola!(tm)" (Photo, Left: Aviana gives a great big thumbs up for her favorite beverage. Photo, Below: all smiles for Aviana as she celebrates both the new Prince of Wales Pub and her trimuphant return to the Texas Renaissance Festival!)
