OPENING CEREMONIES

A taste of things to come! Members of the local gentry together with Lords and Ladies of the Realm presented a brief, formal dance before the Gate, in honor of King Henry's visit. Music, dancing and celebration were definitely the Order of the Day at Scarborough!

With bagpipe and drum, a troop of brawny, heavily-armed Scotsmen heralds the arrival of Margaret, Queen of Scotland. Apparently, the goat marching in their ranks is the regimental mascot. WHAT??? No sheep???!?

Queen Margaret of Scotland greets the assembled throng from her vantage point in the Royal Carriage, er, Horse Cart??? If that weren't bad enough, it were right difficult maintaining the Royal Dignity while dismounting from same as it were a l-o-n-g step down while wearing long skirts, too!

The obligatory picture of Men in Kilts from the rear, as requested by the ladies.
