FIGHT-THE-KNIGHT AT LRF 2011 -- 00:31
For both players and patrons at the Louisiana Renaissance Festival 2011 with a need to work off a little frustration, "Fight The Knight" provided the perfect outlet. Using well-padded "quarterstaves" and LOTS of heavily-padded body armor, opponents got three chances to flail at each other mercilessly until they knocked their heads off! It was even MORE fun watching two "headless" knights continue to battle while their heads rolled around under their feet!!!
| PIPERS ON THE WATER AT LRF 2011 -- 02:40 Haggis Rampant and several of their piper friends boarded the ferry during the Louisiana Renaissance Festival 2011 in order to play a variety of bagpipe tunes as they crossed Lake Albright to the Village Common. "Bagpipes on the Water" went over very well with most of the audience --- save for one French nobleman, who pulled out his knife and attempted to cut the hawser necessary for bringing the ferry safely to shore! Fortunately, good English hemp made in Bristol (UK) proved far superior to French steel made in Paris and his nefarious plot was easily thwarted!! |
| HAGGIS RAMPANT "PIPER ABUSE" AT LRF 2011 -- 04:48 IT'S NOT HAZING! The Scottish bagpipes were originally designed to provide morale-boosting music during the heat of battle. The piper, therefore, had to have nerves of steel in order to stand/march and play while shot and shell whistled around him, comrades were killed, horses screamed in pain and cannonballs exploded left and right, showering him in dirt, stones and possibly bloody human parts. Haggis Rampant simulates that with their "Piper Abuse" set: Steven and Gillian continue playing despite being tormented by the members and musicians of Pandemonium Bellydance! In this set, at least, both pipers fought back briefly with Silly String at the beginning of their ordeal!!! |
