VIDEOS OF
        THANKSGIVING WEEKEND AT THE
        LOUISIANA RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL 2011

        HAGGIS RAMPANT AT LRF 2011 -- 00:50
Scottish bagpipes provide the background to the Louisiana Renaissance Festival thanks to the family band of Pam, Steven and Gillian. Not only is their music outstanding -- both Steven and Gillian have won major awards as pipers! -- but they also vary their shows so no two performances are exactly alike!! They often invite guest pipers to play along and their zany antics (Piper Abuse!) are legendary!!!

        NOON PARADE AT LRF 2011 -- 01:31
The Noon Parade at renaissance festivals provides a chance for faire players, cast and merchants to meet and greet their fans -- and for patrons of the faire to glimpse most of the faire staff in passing. At the Louisiana Renaissance Festival the Noon Parade is rather short compared to other RenFaires, but it certainly makes up for size with sheer ENTHUSIASM! And this weekend, they had not only one but THREE horse-drawn vehicles in the Parade!!

        PANDORIUM BELLYDANCERS AT LRF 2011 -- 02:17
The Pandorium Bellydancers perform an unusual variation of the Veil Dance during their show on the Celtic Green at the Louisiana Renaissance Festival 2011. Considering just how cold and windy the day was -- and how lightly they were dressed for their show! -- the troupe has to be commended both for their professionalism and sheer endurance!!

GAMES WITH BAGPIPE ACCOMPANIMENT AT LRF 2011 -- 01:01
The Crystal Stix vendor always sets his tent right above the Celtic Green at the Louisiana Renaissance Festival, so there's usually bagpipe music playing in the background while his patrons try out his wares. This day the younger patrons were more interested in his hula hoops than the crystal stix -- and proved quite adept with that faddish toy which seems bent on making a comeback!

        LAWN POLO AT LRF 2011 -- 02:58
The Royal Court at the Louisiana Renaissance Festival plays a rousing set of Lawn Polo, a game apparently unique to this faire. Since the "lawn" is rather small, hobby horses must stand in for the polo horses but all other rules of Polo apply. It's a game made for the ladies of the Court, since their voluminous gowns not only block the ball quite efficiently but can quickly hide the ball if necessary! Obviously, NO true gentleman would try to retrieve the ball under those circumstances!!!
