| LIVE STEEL AT ST. LOUIS 2007 Two of the Knights Hospitaller Living History Group step thru a live-steel demonstration of swordfighting techniques at the Greater St. Louis Renaissance Festival on Closing Weekend 2007. Unlike most competitive swordfighting (SCA and LARP, for example), the Knights Hospitallers use real swords, NOT padded or training weapons -- and they DO thrust at each other, with force! Their only nod to personal safety is that they blunt the tips of their weapons. At full speed, it was truly an awesome sight to behold!!! |
