COSTUMES and CHARACTERS
        At The
        GEORGIA RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL 2003

These lads enjoy the sights of GARF from the comfort of this rickshaw ride (Photo, Right). Myself, I liked the way the operator outfitted himself -- the ponytail was a right nice touch!

Two Faeries from Tennessee sighted at GARF: Photo, Left: gossamer wings flutter during the afternoon "parade" at Georgia; Photo, Below: a most attractive Blue Faerie shows off her delicate wings for the camera.

One of the (extremely-rare) playtrons encountered at GARF 2003 (Photo, Above). This cavalier was positively overjoyed to have his portrait taken -- much less discuss his garb and acoutrements at scholarly length! Surprise and delight, in fact, was the standard reaction of other playtrons Ryleh approached for their portraits, which surprised me in return. Such a reaction strongly suggested that playtrons -- faire patrons who dress up for faire and "pay to play" -- are not actively encouraged at GARF. If true, t'would be a grevious shame as playtrons certainly help "populate" a faire with a goodly, Medieval throng willing to play along with both the Cast and Krew: in garb, in character!

Another playtron (Photo, Left: as a very NAUGHTY faerie) hams it up for the camera. One of those "AWWWW!" moments (Photo, Below Right: gently holding a sleeping puppy, one of the ladies at the Pet Rescue Booth discusses the joys of adopting a pet with GARF patrons passing by). Outside of the splendid architecture at Georgia, this was certainly one of the main highlights at GARF for me!
