BOFFER ACTION AT FOUR WINDS 2009 -- 02:57
Several clips were combined to show the boffersword action at the Four Winds Renaissance Festival, held near Troup, TX every Spring. This was strictly a "pay to play" game for patrons and playtrons -- but members of the Four Winds cast just couldn't stay away from the Boffer Pit for long!
FOUR WINDS BELLYDANCERS 2009 -- 03:38 Saturday morning at faire and the drummers for the bellydance show began warming up for the first performance of the day. It definitely helped: the bellydancers showed their appreciation for the drummers' efforts at the end of their routine!
BELLYDANCERS AT FOUR WINDS 2009 -- 05:52 The bellydancers at the Four Winds Renaissance Festival entertained faire patrons several times daily, including our own family members, Aaron and Erica. Advertised as "The Dream Harem," they actually consisted of several combined troupes -- which accounts for so many bellydancers appearing together on one stage!

JOUSTING GAMES AT FOUR WINDS 2009 -- 03:05 Before the jousts, the knights of Four Winds demonstrated their skill and prowess with several "games," among them throwing a spear from horseback and "taking the Saracens' Head" (i.e. impaling a head of cabbage with a sword). These were serious games for the knights, as points were scored and totaled as part of the Four Winds Jousting Tournament which climaxes in June every year.
MORE JOUSTING GAMES AT FOUR WINDS 2009 -- 03:05 "Lancing the Rings" and "Riding to the Quintain" were two more games 'played' by the knights of the Four Winds Renaissance Festival, located near Troup, TX. Points were awarded for each ring "lanced" by the knight on horseback, while each revolution of the Quintain earned a point for the knight who struck it with his lance in passing. All these points earned counted for individual totals, to culminate in the Four Winds Jousting Tournament to be held in June.

JOUSTING AT FOUR WINDS 2009 -- 04:33 The knights of Four Winds go lance-to-lance during the daily tournament at the Four Winds Renaissance Festival, located near Troup, TX. Unlike the "demonstration" jousting at other faires, the Four Winds knights keep track of points scored over the course of the season, which culminates in the Four Winds Joust Tournament in June of each year.
