        The French Royal Court, led by His Majesty King Francis I, introduces themselves at Opening Gate at the Four Winds Renaissance Festival in 2009. This was a most refreshing change of pace, since the nobility of so many other renaissance festivals is strictly English.





        PUNCH'n JUDY at FOUR WINDS 2009 -- 04:33
        A medieval favorite, Punch'n Judy can still entertain both kids and adults alike today -- as this Punch'n Judy show at the Four Winds Renaissance Festival amply demonstrated. It was fairly close to the original, but without the wife beating and throwing the baby out the window, yet it lost NONE of its' "original" flavor in the editing.




        COURTLY DANCING AT FOUR WINDS 2009 -- 02:02
        The French Court steps out in this measured and restrained dance at the Four Winds Renaissance Festival 2009, with a brief cameo of King Francis I who preferred to sit out and just watch this not-so-wild-and-crazy fling. Kicking up your heels is for PEASANTS, after all (sniff)!





        NOON PARADE AT FOUR WINDS 2009 -- 01:40
        The cast, merchants and performers of the Four Winds Renaissance Festival paraded from the Main Gate to the Tournament Field every day, greeting patrons and playtrons alike in their passing. It was a great way to "see" everyone working faire, all in one place!




        BREAKING THE HABIT AT FOUR WINDS 2009 -- 02:20
        "Breaking the Habit," a comedy duo consisting of two wayward nuns, entertained fairegoers at the Four Winds Renaissance Festival in 2009 with bawdy songs and mildly suggestive comic routines. Absolutely NOTHING to write Mother Superior about!





        FIRE IN THE HOLE AT FOUR WINDS 2009 -- 00:43
        A tiny cannon, loaded with black powder and wadded with tissue paper, was fired as a demonstration only during the Four Winds Renaissance Festival 2009. As might be expected, it made an outsized BOOM for such a small piece!
